Major refinery WWTP in India will use Kubota MBR technology
GL&V India’s Eimco Water Technologies division has received an order from Paramount Ltd for a membrane bioreactor (MBR) system for Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd’s MRPL Phase III effluent treatment plant (ETP) in Mangalore, India.
The 14.76 million litres per day (MLD) refinery membrane bioreactor ETP will be based on a large flat-sheet submerged membrane system from Japan’s Kubota Corp. Engineers India Ltd is the consulting engineer for the MRPL project.
Kubota has supplied its membrane technology to more than 5500 wastewater treatment plants worldwide since the 1990s and some plants now have membrane cartridges that are more than 10 years old.
Eimco Water Technologies is also supplying a Kubota membrane based membrane bioreactor system for the 2010 Commonwealth Games Village sewage treatment works (STP) in Delhi. The 4.5 MLD capacity STP, which is currently under construction, will be one of the largest membrane bioreactor STPs in India.
